Payments at a glance

  • Where you pay: only on our secure checkout at inkhug.shop.
  • Which methods: the payment options available to you are shown at checkout before you confirm your order.
  • Currency: prices are in US dollars (USD).
  • Shipping: free to the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand; nothing is added for delivery.
  • Sales tax: Ink Hug does not collect sales tax at checkout.
  • We never ask for card numbers, passwords or codes by email.

This page explains how paying for an Ink Hug pillow or blanket works, what you will see at checkout, how refunds reach you, and how to keep your payment details safe. We only describe payment options on this page once they are connected and tested on our checkout, so the checkout itself is always the most accurate list of what you can use.

1. How payment works at Ink Hug

  1. Add your pillow or blanket to the cart and go to checkout.
  2. Enter your billing and shipping details, then write your personalization in the Order notes box.
  3. Review the order summary: items, sizes, quantity, free shipping and the total in USD.
  4. Choose one of the payment options shown in the payment section of the checkout page.
  5. Complete the payment. Depending on the option, you may be taken to the payment provider’s secure page to confirm, then brought back to our site.
  6. You see an order received page and get a confirmation email with your order number.

Payment is taken when you place the order. Because each piece is printed for you, we begin processing soon after payment, within the 1–3 business day processing time described on our Shipping & Delivery page.

Before you pay, take a moment to re-read your order notes in the checkout form. Payment is the last step before your names, dates and photos go to print, and changes are only free within 24 hours of ordering.

2. Payment options shown at checkout

The payment section of checkout lists every method you can use for your order. We do not show payment logos elsewhere on the site unless that method is connected and working at checkout, because a logo for a method you cannot actually use would only cause confusion.

If you do not see a method you hoped to use, please email us before ordering and we will tell you what is available. We will update this page whenever an option is added or removed.

Why there might be no option for your situation

Some payment methods are only available in certain countries or for certain currencies. Our prices are in US dollars. If your card issuer or account is in Canada, Australia or New Zealand, your provider converts the amount to your own currency and may charge a foreign transaction fee; that fee is set by your provider, not by Ink Hug.

3. What you pay

For deliveries to Canada, Australia and New Zealand, the destination country may charge import taxes or duties to the recipient under its own rules. Ink Hug does not collect these at checkout.

4. Security of your payment

Every page of inkhug.shop, including checkout, is served over HTTPS, so the connection between your browser and our site is encrypted. Payment details are entered with the payment provider at checkout. Ink Hug does not store full card numbers or bank login details.

A few habits keep your money safe:

  • Check that the address bar shows inkhug.shop and a padlock before you enter any details.
  • Never send card numbers, security codes, passwords or one-time codes by email, to us or anyone else.
  • Be wary of emails that claim to be from Ink Hug and ask you to pay through a link that is not our checkout, or by gift card or bank transfer. We will never do that. Forward any such email to support@inkhug.shop.
  • If you shop on a shared computer, log out of your account and close the browser afterwards.

5. Failed or declined payments

If a payment does not go through, checkout shows a message and your order is not placed. Common reasons include a typing mistake in the billing address, an expired card, a bank’s fraud check on an international transaction, or a payment window that timed out. You can try again or choose another option shown at checkout. If you see a charge or a pending authorization on your statement but no order confirmation email from us, email us with the date and amount before trying again, so we can check whether the order was created and avoid a double payment.

Pending authorizations

Sometimes a bank shows a pending amount for a payment that did not complete. That pending amount is released by the bank, usually within a few business days. If it does not disappear, contact your bank and let us know; we will confirm in writing that no order was placed.

6. Refunds to your payment method

Refunds are always sent to the original payment method used at checkout. We issue them within 7 days of receiving your return, or within 7 days of confirming a cancellation or an approved claim. Your bank or payment provider then takes a short time to show the money in your account. If you prefer, you can choose store credit instead; store credit never expires. Read the full rules in our Refund Policy.

If you cancel within 24 hours of ordering, the full amount is refunded. See Cancel or Change an Order.

7. Price differences after a change

If you change your order within 24 hours to a larger size or a different style, the new item may cost more. We will tell you the difference before printing and explain how to pay it securely through our checkout. If the new item costs less, we refund the difference to your original payment method within 7 days of confirming the change, or add it as store credit if you prefer.

8. Discount codes and store credit

When we publish a discount code, its terms will be stated with it. Enter the code in the coupon field at checkout before you pay; it cannot be applied after the order is placed unless the code’s terms say so. Store credit that we issue to you, for example after a return, never expires. If you have credit and are not sure how to use it, email us before you check out and we will help.

9. Invoices and receipts

Your order confirmation email works as your receipt. It shows the items, the personalization summary, the total in USD and the order number. If you need a copy sent again, email us with the order number.

10. Disputes and chargebacks

If something is wrong with an order, please email us first. We reply within 24 hours on business days and can usually resolve the problem with a reprint, a refund or store credit far faster than a bank dispute. If you have already opened a dispute, tell us the date and reference so we can respond to your bank quickly. Opening a dispute while a return is in progress can delay the refund, because the provider freezes the payment while it investigates.

11. Paying from each country we ship to

Ink Hug prices every product in US dollars. Here is what that means for shoppers in each country we deliver to.

Currency and charges by country
CountryPrice shownWhat your statement may showCharges set by others
United StatesUSDThe USD totalNone from us; sales tax is not collected by Ink Hug
CanadaUSDConverted to CAD by your providerPossible foreign transaction fee; possible import charges on arrival
AustraliaUSDConverted to AUD by your providerPossible foreign transaction fee; possible import charges on arrival
New ZealandUSDConverted to NZD by your providerPossible foreign transaction fee; possible import charges on arrival

Because conversion happens at your provider’s rate on the day, a refund converted back into your currency on a later day may differ slightly from the original amount in your currency. The USD amount we refund is always the amount you paid us for the returned item.

12. Order checks before printing

To protect customers from stolen cards and accounts, we may review an order before printing if something looks unusual, for example a billing and shipping address in different countries combined with several high-value items, or many orders in a short time. In that case we email you from support@inkhug.shop to confirm a detail about the order. We never ask for your full card number, security code or passwords in these emails. If we cannot confirm an order, we cancel it and refund the full amount to the original payment method.

13. If you did not receive a confirmation email

A confirmation email normally arrives within a few minutes of a successful payment. If you do not see one:

  • Check your spam, junk and promotions folders for an email from inkhug.shop.
  • Check that the email address you entered at checkout was spelled correctly.
  • Look at your bank or payment provider for a completed payment, not just a pending one.
  • If the payment completed but no email arrived, write to us with the name on the order, the date and the amount. We will find the order and resend the confirmation.

Please do not place the same order again until we have checked, so you are not charged twice and two identical pieces are not printed.

14. Paying for a gift for someone else

You can pay with your own payment method and ship to anyone in the United States, Canada, Australia or New Zealand. Enter your billing details and the recipient’s shipping address at checkout. The confirmation and any refund go to you, the buyer. The recipient does not see what you paid.

Several gifts, one payment

If you are buying several pillows or blankets for different people, you can pay for them in one order when they go to the same address. When they go to different addresses, place one order per address; each order is paid separately and each ships free. Label each item clearly in the order notes so the right names reach the right people.

15. Contact us about payments

Email support@inkhug.shop with “Payment” and your order number in the subject. Never include card numbers in your email; we do not need them to help you. You can also visit our Help Center, read the FAQs, or use the Submit a Ticket page.
