Copyright notices follow our <a href=\"/dmca/\">DMCA</a> process.</li>\n</ul>\n</section>\n<p>Personalized gifts sit right where creativity and other people&#8217;s rights meet. A family photo is a wonderful thing to print; a professional portrait, a sports logo or a cartoon character usually is not, unless you have permission. This policy explains whose rights we respect, what we will and will not print, how we protect our own brand, and what to do if you think your rights have been infringed. It applies to everyone who uses inkhug.shop and to every order. It works together with our <a href=\"/terms-of-service/\">Terms of Service</a> and our <a href=\"/dmca/\">DMCA</a> policy.</p>\n<h2>1. Types of intellectual property involved</h2>\n<table class=\"policy-table\">\n<caption>Intellectual property you may come across when ordering</caption>\n<thead>\n<tr>\n<th scope=\"col\">Type</th>\n<th scope=\"col\">What it protects</th>\n<th scope=\"col\">Example on a pillow or blanket</th>\n</tr>\n</thead>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>Copyright</td>\n<td>Original creative works: photos, drawings, designs, text, lyrics</td>\n<td>A photographer&#8217;s wedding portrait; a song lyric</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Trademark</td>\n<td>Names, logos and symbols that identify a business or product</td>\n<td>A sports team crest; a brand logo; a product name</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Right of publicity</td>\n<td>A person&#8217;s name, image or likeness used commercially</td>\n<td>A photo of a celebrity or public figure</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Design rights and character rights</td>\n<td>Distinctive characters and designs from films, games and books</td>\n<td>A cartoon or video game character</td>\n</tr>\n</tbody>\n</table>\n<p>Your own family photos, your pet, your handwriting and the names of the people you love are not a problem. Problems arise when the content belongs to someone else.</p>\n<h2>2. Your content: you keep ownership</h2>\n<p>When you personalize an order, by writing in the <strong>Order notes</strong> box at checkout or by emailing us a photo, the content remains yours. You give Ink Hug a limited permission to use it only for making, checking, shipping and supporting your order, including any reprint or exchange. We do not use your photos, names or messages in advertising, on social media or on our website. Customer photos are deleted 30 days after delivery, as described in our <a href=\"/privacy-policy/\">Privacy Policy</a>.</p>\n<p>If we ever wanted to show a customer&#8217;s piece as an example, we would ask first in writing and only proceed with clear permission. Saying no would never affect your order.</p>\n<h2>3. What you confirm when you order</h2>\n<p>By placing an order with personalization, you confirm that:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>you created the content, or you have the permission of the person who did;</li>\n<li>printing it on a personal gift does not infringe anyone&#8217;s copyright, trademark or other rights;</li>\n<li>you have considered the privacy of people shown in your photos, and you are comfortable with them appearing on a gift;</li>\n<li>the content is lawful and not hateful, threatening, sexually explicit or harmful to children.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>If a third party makes a claim because content you provided infringed their rights, our <a href=\"/terms-of-service/\">Terms of Service</a> explain who is responsible.</p>\n<h2>4. Content we will not print</h2>\n<p>To respect other people&#8217;s rights, we do not print:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>logos, crests, mascots or names of sports teams, leagues, colleges or schools, unless you are the rights holder;</li>\n<li>brand names, product logos or trade dress belonging to companies;</li>\n<li>characters from films, television, books, games or toys;</li>\n<li>photos of celebrities, athletes or public figures taken from the internet or media;</li>\n<li>artwork, illustrations or photos copied from websites, social media or stock libraries without a license that allows printing;</li>\n<li>song lyrics, poems or passages from books, beyond short phrases that are common expressions;</li>\n<li>anything unlawful, hateful, harassing or sexually explicit.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>If we see this kind of content in an order before printing, we will email you and either ask for a replacement or cancel the order with a full refund. We may not catch every case, which is why the confirmation in section 3 matters.</p>\n<h3>Why we are strict about this</h3>\n<p>Printing someone else&#8217;s logo or artwork on a product for sale can infringe their rights even when the buyer only wants one gift. Rights holders are entitled to control how their work and marks are used. Being careful protects you, protects the creators and lets us keep offering personalization to everyone.</p>\n<h2>5. Common situations</h2>\n<table class=\"policy-table\">\n<caption>Can I use this on my Ink Hug order?</caption>\n<thead>\n<tr>\n<th scope=\"col\">Content</th>\n<th scope=\"col\">Usually OK?</th>\n<th scope=\"col\">Notes</th>\n</tr>\n</thead>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>Photos you took of family, friends or pets</td>\n<td>Yes</td>\n<td>The ideal choice for a personal gift</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>A selfie or group photo taken by a friend</td>\n<td>Yes, with their agreement</td>\n<td>Ask the friend; most people are delighted</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Professional wedding, newborn or school portraits</td>\n<td>Only with permission</td>\n<td>Check your photographer&#8217;s print release</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Your child&#8217;s drawing or a loved one&#8217;s handwriting</td>\n<td>Yes</td>\n<td>Photograph it flat in daylight</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Names, dates and your own words</td>\n<td>Yes</td>\n<td>We print them exactly as written in the order notes</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>A favorite team&#8217;s logo or colors with crest</td>\n<td>No</td>\n<td>Choose your own photo at the game instead, without logos in focus</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>A cartoon character for a child</td>\n<td>No</td>\n<td>A name pillow or a photo of the child with a favorite toy works well</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>A quote from a famous book or song</td>\n<td>Usually no</td>\n<td>Write your own line; it is often more meaningful</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>An image from a stock photo site</td>\n<td>Only with a suitable license</td>\n<td>Most free licenses do not cover printing on products for sale</td>\n</tr>\n</tbody>\n</table>\n<h2>6. Ink Hug&#8217;s own intellectual property</h2>\n<p>The Ink Hug name, our heart-and-ink-drop logo, the design of inkhug.shop, our product descriptions, help pages, photos and graphics are owned by Ink Hug or used with permission. You may view, download and print pages for your own personal use, for example to keep a copy of our returns policy. You may not:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>copy our text, images or design to another website or shop;</li>\n<li>use the Ink Hug name or logo in a way that suggests we endorse or are connected with you;</li>\n<li>register domain names, social accounts or business names that imitate ours;</li>\n<li>scrape or bulk-download our content.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>If you would like to quote or link to our content, for example in a gift guide, linking to our pages is welcome. For anything more, email us and ask.</p>\n<h3>Impersonation</h3>\n<p>We only operate from inkhug.shop and send email from addresses ending in inkhug.shop. If you find a website, social account or email that uses our name or logo without being us, please tell us at <a href=\"mailto:support@inkhug.shop\">support@inkhug.shop</a>. Do not enter payment details on such a site.</p>\n<h2>7. Product examples and photos on our site</h2>\n<p>Product pages on inkhug.shop show example pillows and blankets so you can see the style, size and fabric of each piece. The names, dates and photos in those examples are fictional or used with permission, and they are there only to illustrate what a finished piece can look like. Your item will carry your own content instead. If you recognize yourself, your work or your family in an example image and did not agree to it, email us straight away and we will remove the image while we look into it.</p>\n<h3>Reviews and customer submissions</h3>\n<p>When a verified buyer leaves a review, they keep ownership of their words, and they give us permission to display the review on our site. Reviewers should not upload photos of other people, or content they do not own, with a review. We may remove review content that infringes someone else&#8217;s rights.</p>\n<h2>8. Our respect for other makers</h2>\n<p>We want to build Ink Hug with original work. Our logo was drawn for us, our page text is written for this store, and our product examples are prepared for our own listings. We do not copy other shops&#8217; descriptions, photos or policies. If you run a business and believe we have used your work, please tell us and give us the chance to put it right quickly.</p>\n<h2>9. How to report an infringement</h2>\n<h3>Copyright</h3>\n<p>For copyright claims, follow the notice process on our <a href=\"/dmca/\">DMCA</a> page, which lists the information the law requires.</p>\n<h3>Trademarks and other rights</h3>\n<p>For trademark, publicity or other rights, email <a href=\"mailto:support@inkhug.shop\">support@inkhug.shop</a> with the subject &#8220;IP notice&#8221; and include:</p>\n<ol>\n<li>your name and contact details, and your relationship to the rights holder;</li>\n<li>the trademark or right concerned, with registration details where available;</li>\n<li>where the material appears: a URL on inkhug.shop, or details and photos of a product;</li>\n<li>a short explanation of why you believe it infringes your rights;</li>\n<li>a statement that the information is accurate and that you are authorized to act.</li>\n</ol>\n<p>We acknowledge notices within 24 hours on business days, review them carefully, and act where appropriate, for example by removing material from our site or refusing to print the content again. We tell the affected customer and give them a chance to respond.</p>\n<h2>10. When we remove or refuse content</h2>\n<p>If we remove material or cancel an order because of a rights issue, we will explain why by email. For a canceled order, we refund the full amount to the original payment method within 7 days of confirming the cancellation. If you believe we made a mistake, reply with the facts, for example that you took the photo yourself, and we will review the decision. Customers who repeatedly send infringing content may have their accounts closed and future orders refused.</p>\n<h2>11. Tips for choosing content that is both personal and safe</h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Use photos from your own phone or camera roll; they are usually the most meaningful anyway.</li>\n<li>For a sports fan, use a photo of them at a game or in a jersey, rather than the team logo on its own.</li>\n<li>For a child who loves a character, print their name with their birth date, or a photo of them hugging a favorite toy.</li>\n<li>For a quote, write your own words. &#8220;Our first home, 2026&#8221; or &#8220;You will always be my favorite&#8221; say more than a borrowed line.</li>\n<li>For a memorial, a handwritten note from the person you are remembering is unique and entirely yours to use.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>More ideas for wording and photos are in our <a href=\"/faqs/\">FAQs</a> and <a href=\"/help-center/\">Help Center</a>.</p>\n<h2>12. Changes to this policy</h2>\n<p>We may update this policy as our products or the law change. The date at the top shows the latest version. The version in force when you placed your order applies to that order.</p>\n<h2>13. Contact</h2>\n<p>Questions about this policy: <a href=\"mailto:support@inkhug.shop\">support@inkhug.shop</a>.
